Music for moving electric guitars to introduce unlikely characters

On October 23, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Tilted Axes: Music for Mobile Electric Guitars will present a new performance procession titled Unlikely Characters in partnership with the 15th Annual HONK NYC! Festival in the East Village of New York. Tilted Axes is a group of guitarists and percussionists led by classically trained post-rocker Patrick Grant. They perform untethered original music through mini-amps strapped to their shoulders.

This event is part of [email protected] – celebrating the 10th anniversary season of Tilted Axes.

The show begins at 11th Street and Avenue B, and will stop along the way at various East Village landmarks to play music appropriate to the location. The show is free for the public and can be joined at any time during the course. They will end up completing the loop of the procession by returning to Avenue B to end the performance. See the Tilted Axes website for more information: www.tiltedaxes.com

For the Honk NYC procession, Tilted Axes performs “Unlikely Characters”, a piece specially created for HONK NYC! The title comes from Robert Fripp’s quote: “Music wants so much to be heard that it sometimes calls on unlikely characters to give it voice and give it ears.”
