Fender Launches Travel, Couch, and Budget California Mini Acoustic Guitars

0

Wing released its California Mini Series, a compact range of acoustic guitars which would make an ideal travel guitar or just a fun little scaled instrument to have around the house – and a serious option for young players looking for a more accessible guitar.

The series includes the Redondo Mini and Sonoran Mini, which resemble the company with their Strat six-line headstock. The guitars share a lot of design DNA, with walnut fingerboards and bridges, nato thin-taper C-shaped necks, Nubone nuts and saddles, and satin finishes.

The Redondo Mini has a half size body featuring a spruce top, mahogany back and sides and a short 22.75″ scale length. The Sonoran Mini meanwhile has a slightly larger size 3 body /4 and a 24.1″ scale length, and offers the choice of a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, or all-mahogany construction.

The Redondo Mini is offered in Natural or Sunburst finishes, while the Sonoran Mini is offered in Natural Mahogany. Staying on message with the travel vibe, these acoustics come with their own carry bag.

Other cool little touches include the distressed white plastic knobs on the nickel tuners, and we particularly like the three-ply gold pickguard on the Sonoran Mini.

Pricing isn’t bad either, with both listed at £179/$199. See Fender for details.
