Fender introduces its new Player Plus series of electric guitars and basses

From Fender’s best-selling Player Series, Plus guitars and basses bring new features and finishes to iconic models.

Fender’s new Player Plus Series features a range of new quiet pickups, improved clarity and balance for authentic Fender tone without buzz. Beyond sound, Fender has updated the feel and style of the Plus Series, with a modern “C” neck and smooth rolled edges, providing comfort for longer sessions, plus new colors and faded finishes. Player Plus comes in six variants: Stratocaster, Stratocaster HSS, Telecaster, Nashville Telecaster, Active precision bassand Active jazz bass. These models range between $1000 and $1150.


Stratocaster – $999.99

Fender’s famous Statocasters come with new pickup combinations not usually found on a Strat, thanks to the new Plus Series. Stratocaster Player Plus are available in Sunburst 3 colors, Olympic Pearl and Tequila Sunrise with Maple key material, or Candy Red Aged Apple and spark of opal with Pau Ferro key material.

The Player Plus Stratocaster HSS are available in Sunburst 3 colors and cosmic jade with Maple key material, or Blue Belair and silver blast with Pau Ferro key material.

Fender’s Telecasters are rugged, road-ready models with series/parallel circuitry for warmer output and fatter tones. Player Plus Telecasters are available in Sunburst 3 colors, Candy Red Aged Apple and cosmic jade with Maple key material, or silver smoke with Pau Ferro key material.

As the most expensive of Fender’s Player Plus series, Active Jazz Basses, in four- and five-string models, bring a satin finish to the back of the neck for smooth playability, as well as active/passive toggle for tonal flexibility. Player Plus four-string active precision basses are available in Olympic Pearl and Candy Red Aged Apple with Maple key material, or Sunburst 3 colors and Blue Belair with Pau Ferro fingerboard material, while five-string Player Plus Active Precision Basses are available in cosmic jade and spark of opal with Maple key material, or Sunburst 3 colors and Tequila Sunrise with Pau Ferro key material. The four-string costs $1099.99, while the five-string adds another $50 at $1149.99.
