Cort’s New JADE Classical Acoustic-Electric Guitars Are Sweeter Than Their Glow

0

With the unveiling of the JADE Classic acoustic-electric guitars, Cort defies convention by introducing a radically retro look to its JADE series. While the pearlescent pastels are an aesthetic throwback to 1950s rock-n-roll, the JADE Classics have plenty of modern features that will delight players looking for a smaller-sized guitar. The target audience will find that the JADE Classics offer much more than “a guitar designed for girls” and will return to a time when the rebellion began.

The immediate appeal of the JADE Classics is their small bodies and eye-catching new colors: pastel yellow, pastel pink and open-pore sky blue. 1950s pearloid is applied to the headstock and pickguard, and gives these guitars their unique shine. However, where the JADE Classics really shine is less apparent to the eye and more noticeable to the ear. These guitars produce a smooth, warm sound thanks to the all-mahogany construction that Cort developed in line with recent trends in the acoustic guitar market. Mahogany back and sides, while darker than spruce, are comparatively warmer with a full, rich midrange. The unique construction gives the JADE Classics their surprising tonal depth.

The JADE Classics are built ready to rock with the built-in Cort CE304T pickup. This system features a 3-band EQ for tonal flexibility that brings the richness of mahogany to an amplification system for live and recording applications. The preamp also includes a handy LED tuner.

Other modern features used in the JADE Classic models include the Venetian cutaway design which provides easy access to the high frets. Aided by the thin neck and dovetail construction, experienced players will find these guitars to be both versatile and capable. Tuning is a breeze with the new open-geared vintage machine heads (18:1 tuning ratio) which are relatively lightweight and help improve the overall balance of the instrument.

With JADE Classic acoustic-electric guitars, Cort proves that beauty is not convention and that “pretty” can always pack a punch. At MSRP of $329.99 (with gig bag) each, these high quality guitars won’t break the bank either.
